MIAMI-Brightstar Logistics Pty Ltd. said it signed a three-year agreement with Australian carrier Telstra to manage its handset supply chain.
The deal calls for Brightstar to manage the carrier’s retail fulfillment operation and launch inventory management tools to help Telstra lower costs. Brightstar said it plans to develop a Web-based product-ordering portal and automated point of sale replenishment systems as part of the deal.
Last fall, the pair signed an exclusive agreement that tasked Brightstar with helping the carrier obtain wireless devices at lower prices.
Brightstar has been working to bolster its Asia-Pacific operations.
