WASHINGTON—Complaints filed by mobile-phone subscribers at the Federal Communications Commission dropped in the fourth quarter of 2005 compared with the previous quarter, the agency said.
The FCC said wireless complaints decreased from 6,873 in the third quarter to 4,956 in the fourth quarter, with fewer complaints received in all categories monitored by the commission.
Wireless inquiries fell from 9,446 in the third quarter to 9,246 in the fourth quarter of 2005, the FCC said. The agency noted that tower issues replaced commercial wireless license issues as one of the top wireless inquiry categories this quarter.
The lodging of a complaint or making an inquiry does not necessarily indicate wrongdoing by a wireless carrier.
