Leap amends loan agreement with Alaska Native Broadband

SAN DIEGO-Cricket Communications Inc. amended its agreement with Alaska Native Broadband 1 License L.L.C. for spectrum purchases and network buildout.

According to a Securities and Exchange C omission filing by Cricket’s parent company, Leap Wireless International Inc., Cricket already has loaned ANB $64.2 million to finance the purchase of wireless licenses in Texas, Ohio, Colorado, New Mexico and Kentucky acquired during the Federal Communications Commission’s Auction 58 last year. Cricket noted in the filing it plans to provide an additional $85.8 million in financing to fund initial buildout costs and capital requirements for a total of $150 million.
