WASHINGTON-The Wireless Communications Association announced the development of the Personal Broadband Alliance.
PBA will include wireless broadband carriers, software and hardware vendors, and infrastructure providers. With a mission to advance mobile broadband consumer services, PBA will focus on strategic, technical and regulatory breakthroughs to enable broadband services for personal communications.
NextNet Wireless and Axcera will serve as interim leaders of the group as chair and deputy chair, respectively.
The group plans to post developments concerning next-generation broadband trials and deployments of mobile broadband applications for personal use on its Web site, www.wcai.com/pba.
