Vodafone signs exclusive content deal for Tomb Raider game

LONDON-European carrier Vodafone announced a deal with video game company Eidos for the exclusive rights to the Tomb Raider game across 22 countries, a deal that further shows the growing market for exclusive wireless content and downloadable wireless games.

Under the terms of the agreement, Vodafone has the exclusive mobile content distribution rights for downloadable games and animated screensavers available to customers of Vodafone’s Live! service in up to 22 countries. Further, the deal includes a Tomb Raider game specifically designed for wireless, “Tomb Raider: The Osiris Codex,” which includes three installments.

In the United States, AT&T Wireless Services Inc. announced a similar deal in conjunction with the recent “Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life” motion picture.
