Bob Ross sells mobile and internet packages from beyond the grave

The second largest Korean mobile operator, KT, has devised commercials using this TV personality’s viewer friendly persona and calm demure to sell its mobile phone and internet packages.

The commercials mirror Ross’ TV program, The Joy of Painting. The only difference is that Bob Ross is not teaching viewers how to improve their oil painting skills but rather paints out a lesson on how to get the best mobile and internet deals by signing up with KT.

Bob’s regular appearance inbetween Korean TV dramas and game shows gives the impression that he is very much alive and painting. The catch? He died fifteen years ago.

Viewers tuning in to their terrestrial channels can watch Bob explain the package information in a step by step paint demonstration and then call their “chingu” (friend) to tell them too.

KT has to be given credit here. After all, the company has made becoming a KT mobile and broad band customer as simple as painting by numbers, Right?
