PRAGUE-The Czech Office for the Protection of Economic Competition has approved Cesky Telecom’s planned purchase of the 49-percent stake it does not already own in wireless operator Eurotel Praha.
Cesky Telecom is buying the stake from AT&T Wireless Services Inc. and Verizon Communications Inc. according to a deal announced earlier this summer in excess of $1 billion. At the time, AT&T and Verizon said they would split proceeds from the sale evenly.
