Cambridge Broadband announces 3.5 GHz orders in China

BEIJING-China Mobile, China Netcom and China Unicom, each of which was recently awarded several 3.5 GHz fixed wireless access licenses in China, will deploy Cambridge Broadband’s VectaStar fixed wireless access equipment.

Cambridge Broadband’s China-based partner, DG Telecommunications Equipment Co., will handle distribution, sales and support of the VectaStar equipment under the DGStar brand name. DG Telecom has already placed $8.6 million in orders, and deliveries have begun.

“We are very pleased to be continuing our excellent relationship with DG Telecom and doing business with companies of such caliber as China Mobile, China Netcom and China Unicom,” said Zine Seghier, vice president of business development at Cambridge Broadband. “We are the first vendor to announce details of contract awards relating to the most recent round of 3.5 GHz licensing in China, and we believe that we have the largest share of this new market.”
