MURRAY HILL, N.J.-Lucent Technologies Inc. signed a multi-year, $1 billion deal with Sprint PCS to upgrade the carrier’s CDMA-based network with additional next-generation equipment.
Lucent said it will provide Sprint PCS with its Flexent CDMA Modular Cell 4.0 and other base stations, switching equipment and related software. Lucent added that the equipment and services are expected to provide Sprint PCS with improved network performance and increased reliability throughout its network.
