Intertek received accreditation from PTCRB and can now conduct testing under “any industry certification scheme for all 2G, 3G and 4G wireless technologies,” the company said.
The PTCRB accreditation was issued June 13 and announced today. PTCRB is a device certification group that serves mostly North American carriers, with the Global Certification Forum serving mostly European carriers. Intertek has been providing LTE test services under GCF-approved processes since 2010.
“The ongoing investment in our network of accredited testing facilities enables us to support the industry’s leading carriers and device manufacturers as they bring new technologies to market,” said Darrell Lehman, who is senior VP of Intertek’s wireless global business line. He added that the accreditation from PTCRB follows ISO 17025 accreditation at its San Diego test lab, and its new over-the-air test capabilities launched in Taipei, Taiwan.
Intertek said the new accreditation allows it to support all major wireless operators’ networks, including AT&T, T-Mobile, NTT DoCoMo, Orange, Telefónica and Vodafone and allows manufacturers to test just about any device type, regardless of the technology or certification body.
