MEXICO CITY-Nokia Corp. reported that Mexican wireless operator Telefonica Moviles Mexico has selected the infrastructure provider to supply at least 50 percent of the radio-access system and all of the packet data core equipment for the operator’s recently launched GSM/GPRS-based MoviStar service.
Under terms of the agreement, Nokia said it supplied its GSM 1900 MHz UltraSite base stations, base station controllers and NetAct operations support system solution. For the packet core network, Nokia supplied its GPRS support nodes, Charging Gateway and other connectivity elements.
