Triton PCS reports increased revenues, net loss up

BERWYN, Pa.-Triton PCS Holdings Inc. reported $188.5 million in total revenues for the first quarter of 2003 compared with $156.7 million the carrier posted during the first quarter of 2002. Despite the increased revenues, net losses increased from $32.3 million during the first quarter of 2002, a loss of 52 cents per share, to a loss of $34.1 million this year, a loss of 54 cents per share.

Net customer additions during the first quarter of 2003 totaled 31,495 subscribers, while customer churn was reported at 2.1 percent and average revenue per user at $53.52.

Triton also announced that its president and chief operating officer Steve Skinner would retire from the carrier effective June 30. Triton’s current chairman and chief executive officer Michael Kalgoris will assume Skinner’s responsibilities while the carrier searches for a replacement.
