CANNES, France-Palm Inc., along with partners Handango and WideRay, announced it will offer in-store software kiosks in order to sell application for Palm OS devices.
PalmSource Inc., the operating system business of Palm, said it will work with network operators to manage the store kiosks. The program, dubbed “Beam-Me-App,” will use Handango’s software and provisioning technology and WideRay’s kiosk jacks. Palm OS device users will be able to buy applications using the kiosks.
The move comes as several wireless companies look to sell wireless software using either kiosks or prepaid cards.
