LIBERTYVILLE, Ill.-Motorola Inc. has unveiled what it describes as the world’s first handset that combines a Linux operating system and Java Technology, with multimedia PDA functionality.
The device, known as Motorola A760, features a digital camera, video player, MP3 player, speakerphone, advanced messaging, instant Internet access and Bluetooth wireless technology.
“This handset is special because it features one of the most open and flexible software platforms that exists,” said Rob Shaddock, vice president of the GSM/TDMA product line in Motorola’s personal communications sector.
