TOKYO-NTT DoCoMo, the largest mobile operator in Japan, announced it would limit the number of views for its i-shot images to 50 times. The i-shot offering is NTT DoCoMo’s version of J-Phone’s popular service “sha-mail.”
Users of i-shot can browse image data that has been stored at i-shot centers of NTT DoCoMo. Following the new restriction, users who try to browse i-shot center images more than 50 times will get a message stating that “browsing the data is prohibited,”
NTT DoCoMo decided to apply the restriction to limit socially unacceptable pictures, such as sexual photos or photos violating privacy laws.
