Japanese chips sales on rise

TOKYO-Sales of Japanese chips may rise to 17.3 percent from April 2002 to April ’03 $9.06 billion, according to the Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan. “Orders are showing that with the rapid development of China, the semiconductor equipment industry can expect a boost from new markets,” the association said.
