Hudson launches voice mail service for i-mode

TOKYO-Hudson, a leading game software provider in Japan, announced it launched a new voice message service for NTT DoCoMo’s i-mode service.

When a user of the i-mode service sends an e-mail with up to 50 letters to another i-mode customer, the recipient can listen to the e-mail message through a synthetic voice. According to Hudson, it is the first voice mail service that allows users to send a created message.

Hudson in cooperation with Arcadia, an Osaka-based venture, developed the synthetic voice system for mobile terminals. The sent voice message can be used as a call receiving tone. The monthly charge for the voice message service is 100 yen (US$0.83).
