SAN JOSE, Calif.-Mobility Network Systems Inc. announced its ipRAN products are compatible with the Generic Interface Specification (GIS) developed by iPass Inc., which allows mobile operators to add wireless LAN roaming to their networks.
“Our partnership with iPass allows mobile operators to offer their customers immediate access to existing wireless LAN hots pots and services even as they are deploying their own Wi-Fi locations,” explained Bill Howe, president and chief executive officer of Mobility Networks. “Wireless LANs provide mobile operators a great opportunity to both answer user demand for high-speed wireless data services and increase their revenues.”
Mobility Networks also said it will supply its ipRAN technology to Nortel Networks for integrating WLANs with their GSM, GPRS and UMTS networks.
