SAO PAULO, Brazil—Brazilian fixed wireless operator Vesper has signed separate contracts with Nortel Networks Ltd. and L.M. Ericsson to supply gear for a cdma2000 1x EV-DO network.
Airvana Inc. said it will provide the channel card upgrade for data for the networks for Nortel.
“Our customers will be provided with access to the Internet and the fastest wireless data communications available today in Brazil,” said Luiz Kaufmann, president of Vesper, which provides fixed wireless services in 17 states in the southeastern and northern regions of the country.
