RESTON, Va.-Nextel Communications Inc. reported executive vice president and chief operating officer James Mooney will leave the carrier September 30. Mooney joined Nextel early last year.
Nextel president and chief executive officer Tim Donahue will assume the added role of COO on an interim basis while the company searches for Mooney’s successor. Donahue held the COO position previously from 1996 to 1999.
