NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif.-Walt Disney Internet Group signed a pair of content deals with Sprint PCS and AT&T Wireless Services Inc. allowing wireless customers to download ringtones, graphics, animation, games and family-oriented services to their handsets.
The deal with Sprint PCS includes Disney, ESPN and EXPN branded content along with Java games and ESPN ringers including the theme from “SportsCenter.” Ringtones and screensavers will cost between $1 and $2 each with games costing between $3 and $4 each. Charges for the downloads will appear on customers’ monthly bills.
The AT&T Wireless’ agreement also involves Disney and ESPN branded content with access to Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Fun for Families and City Lounge. ESPN-banded content includes myESPN that allows customers to personalize sports information and receive customized text message alerts. AT&T Wireless’ Disney content is available for $4 per month on top of the carrier’s mMode service offering, while the myESPN service is available for an additional $3 per month.
