Samsung announces US availability of Galaxy Note Pro, Tab Pro

Samsung announced that beginning Feb. 13, U.S. customers will be able to purchase the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 and the Tab Pro 10.1 and 8.4. People can currently pre-order the new products via Samsung.com, as well as through a wide range of retailers.

In addition, Samsung also announced that the Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 will be on the market in March, with Verizon Wireless as the first wireless carrier to provide the device with LTE connectivity.

New product details

The new Note Pro and Tab Pro lines feature four distinct product models, including the Note Pro 12.2, Tab Pro 12.2, 10.1 and 8.4. Prices of the devices range from $400 to $850 depending on the model selected and the available memory capacity. Users have the choice between a range of memory options, including 16, 32 and 64 gigabytes.

Customers can leverage pre-loaded premium materials such as a range of applications, an interface display for easy access to content and new productivity tools. Users can also choose between black and white device color options. However, the most notable features of the new devices are their 12.2-inch display with high resolution “WQXGA Super Clear LCD” screens and 16:10 widescreen aspect ratios. This provides a display of more than four million pixels, and represents the first of this kind in the world, according to Samsung.

Nanda Ramachandran, Samsung Telecommunications America VP of emerging business, said the new offerings provide for a more substantial and purposeful user experience for both business and leisure activities.

"With four completely revamped models featuring unique software innovations and impressive displays, these tablets offer users a premium Galaxy experience," Ramachandran said.

Boosted productivity resources

Samsung also noted that the hardware can launch as many as four applications at once, and utilize improved “quick controls.” Individuals can also customize the interface to make it easier to locate and connect with content.
