Cesky Telecom stake sold to Deutsche Bank

PRAGUE, Czech Republic-A consortium led by Deutsche Bank will purchase a 51-percent stake for US$1.7 billion in Cesky Telecom, which owns 51 percent of mobile operator EuroTel Praha. The sale ends a more than two-year privatization process.

Demark’s TDC is also a partner in the winning consortium. It owns a stake of Ceske Radiokomunikace, which is a minority shareholder in T-Mobile, formerly called RadioMobile, the country’s second-largest wireless operator.

The Deutsche Bank bid beat a competing bid from a Swisscom-led consortium.
