BERWYN, Pa.-Triton PCS Holdings Inc. said it has entered into a definitive agreement with AT&T Wireless Services Inc. to purchase personal communications services licenses in Richmond, Norfolk and Roanoke, Va., for $65 million. The three 10-megahertz A-block licenses cover approximately 3.7 million potential customers.
Triton currently owns and operates 20 megahertz of the A-block in the respective basic trading areas and said it plans to use the additional spectrum as part of its current network overlay of GSM/GPRS services. The deal is expected to close during the second half of this year.
