LONDON—Hutchison 3G will use Elata’s Java platform to offer targeted, personalized wireless Java applications, the companies announced.
“Choosing a flexible platform that will not only cater to our rollout requirements now, but can evolve and support future multimedia service developments, is crucial,” said Colin Tucker, the carrier’s managing director.
Hutchison will first deploy the platform in the United Kingdom, then in other areas.
