ALEXANDRIA, Va.—Paging and messaging carrier Metrocall Inc. said in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing it dismissed its auditor, Arthur Andersen, and will replace it with Ernst & Young.
The move comes as a variety of wireless companies are rethinking their accounting practices in the wake of the Enron scandal, which involves Arthur Andersen.
“There were no disagreements between us and Arthur Andersen on any matter of accounting principle, financial statement disclosure or auditing scope or procedure which, if not resolved to Arthur Andersen’s satisfaction, would have caused them to make reference to the subject matter of the disagreement in connection with their report for such years,” Metrocall said in its filing.
