REDWOOD CITY, Calif.—The Alan Broadband Co. Inc. recently released the Zap Checker, a handheld device that detects and displays transmitted electronic energy.
Zap Checker detects devices being used in bandwidths from less than 10 MHz to more than 4.5 GHz, including: cellular phones, microwave ovens, computer wireless devices, UHF, VHF, service band and ham radio transmitters, hidden “bugs” and surveillance equipment, baby and security monitors, FM and TV broadcasts and electronic car keys and garage door openers. Upon detection of these various devices, it can be used to tune up and measure signals, to pinpoint RF leakage, to locate hidden transmitters, to determine optimum placement of devices, to design and align the devices, and to monitor radiation level.
