DUBLIN, Ireland—One 2 One unveiled its multimedia messaging (MMS) plans for the United Kingdom at the same time that the name One 2 One was consigned to history as the company formally changed its name to T-Mobile. The company will launch its MMS service in the United Kingdom at the beginning of June, while other T-Mobile businesses in Europe will introduce MMS later this year.
Harris Jones, chief executive officer (CEO) of T-Mobile in the United Kingdom, said: “T-Mobile represents a new stage in the company’s development as a leading player in the mobile telecommunications industry. A single brand identity will help us establish our services across a broader base of national and international mobile customers, with shared product innovation and consistent service standards.”
The T-Mobile MMS service will be characterized by color graphics and will initially be delivered over the Sony Ericsson T68i handset.
