Ericsson launches Bluetooth joint venture in China

BEIJING—Ericsson has set up Dalian Ericsson Short-Range Wireless Connection Technology in China’s northeastern province of Liaoning to provide products and services based on Bluetooth technology, the short-range wireless protocol for connecting electronic devices.

Ericsson China holds a 51-percent stake in the new joint venture, while Dalian Daxian Group owns the remaining 49 percent. Dalian Daxian is a state-owned company listed on the Shanghai stock exchange that started out as a manufacturer of electronic goods, but is focusing more on telecommunications.
