Paraguay counted 248,000 mobile Internet users in the first half of 2011, a 14% increase from December 2010, when the country had 217,000 accounts. Statistics were published in La Nación and are related to the last data of National Telecommunications Commission (Conatel). Mobile Internet revenue has also grown from US $4.5 million in December last year to US $5.1 million.
In July 2011, Tigo was the leader with 132,889 users, followed by Personal, which counted 76,089 customers, and Claro with 39,100.
In Internet via cable, in July, Copaco reached 31,923 subscriptions, while Fibertel counted 5,669 subscribers, but its numbers are from April. In December 2010, total cable Internet totaled 105,731 subscribers.
