Israeli private cellular security startup OneLayer has announced a partnership with Druid Software, which provides private cellular network core software solutions for enterprise.
Under the terms of the deal, OneLayer will be securing Druid Software’s 5G private network domain, with the aim of providing its clients, including system integrators, with a platform and the abilities to deliver and support end-to-end cellular networks to the enterprise.
OneLayer noted it is integrating its SaaS solution on Druid Software equipment, allowing for seamless security for any private LTE/5G network running on Druid Software’s core. Its solution for securing private cellular networks will enable network security using a zero-trust approach, asset management, cellular and IoT device fingerprinting, policy enforcement that allows network segmentation and anomaly detection, amongst other capabilities, according to the company.
“In addition to providing a security solution for Druid, we have also included Druid’s core as a part of our new 5G Security Lab,” said Dave Mor, CEO and co-founder of OneLayer. “By providing a much-needed security solution for Druid we are giving users the confidence to invest in adopting an LTE/5G network that has the potential to take their business to the next level.”

Earlier this month, OneLayer announced the opening of a network security lab in Tel Aviv for telecoms and security companies to test threats to private LTE and 5G networks, currently rolling out in enterprises across the globe. The firm has invited solution providers to test their technologies and applications at the site, which uses core equipment from network vendors Nokia, Druid and Airspan.
OneLayer described the lab as a simulation environment (digital twin), and “one of the world’s first 5G private network security labs”. It is “open to the public”, from anywhere, for research purposes, it said. The lab “acts as a digital twin to simulate specific threat scenarios posed to an enterprise network”. It continued: “Data collected during these simulations will help companies find the best security solutions for each organization and its needs.”
The Israeli firm, which came out stealth mode in March with $8.2 million of seed funding, announced in July it is working with Nokia to secure new private 5G comms in two hospitals in Israel. It stated: “Using core equipment from Nokia, Druid, and Airspan, the lab can create private networks based on different types of cores, end units, and IoT devices to model different types of cyberattacks and the solutions to defend against them,” it has said.
