BUCHAREST, Romania—EuroTel Praha, a Czech cellular operator, extended its EuroTel GSM banking service to another banking house, Raiffeisenbank.
“A variety of direct communication with a bank is gradually becoming standard on the Czech banking market. Our expansion in the Czech Republic, with its main goal to reach a fifth place among domestic financial institutions, is of course connected also to a development of alternative distribution channels. I am very glad that from today we have in our offer, besides previously introduced Internet banking called “Webkonto,” also “Mobilkonto,” which is a system of communications with a bank through a mobile phone,” said Kamil Ziegler, Raiffeisenbank managing director and chairman of the board.
EuroTel’s Executive Marketing Director Glenice Maclellan said the GSM banking service has acquired35,000 customers in less two months since the service was launched.
Through the service, users can find out the balances of their accounts, put in payment orders anywhere and anytime, and use a number of other services offered by individual banks.
