WOODBURY, N.Y.—Two new deals show voice-driven wireless services are becoming more and more popular within the industry.
First, Comverse, a unit of Comverse Technology Inc., announced T-Mobile International’s wireless German subsidiary, T-Mobil, selected the company’s voice portal in order to deliver a range of voice-activated commercial services.
Using the system, T-Mobil customers will be able to place calls and manage their personal address books by simply speaking a name or phone number into a wireless handset.
The second deal involves Preferred Voice Inc., which entered into a marketing agreement with New Mexico-based Plateau Telecommunications Inc. Plateau will begin making Preferred’s voice-activated dialing service available to its entire wireless subscriber base.
