DETROIT—Concourse Communications Group will work with the Wayne County Department of Airports to design, install and operate a Commercial Wireless Telecommunications Access System (CWTAS) throughout Detroit Metropolitan Airport that it said will improve wireless voice and data services for visitors to the airport.
In addition, Concourse will design, install and manage a point-of-sale optical fiber network in the new Edward H. McNamara Terminal to support commercial operation of the airport’s concessionaires.
“Between the CWTAS and the POS fiber network, Metro Airport will have one of the most advanced communications environments in the airport industry,” said Richard DiGeronimo, chief executive officer of Concourse. “These systems provide for a heightened experience of wireless voice, cellular/PCS data and broadband data for the end user. At the same time, they create a new revenue stream for the airport.”
