HONK KONG—Motorola signed a three-year, US$44 million contract to supply GSM 1800 MHz infrastructure for Malaysia’s carrier Telecom Cellular, whose service name is TM Touch, in two regions in the eastern part of the country.
“The award will also include the radio-access hardware and software to allow TM Touch to migrate from the existing GSM second generation-based technology to 2.5G GPRS (General Packet Radio Service),” said Motorola in a statement.
