BANGKOK—Thailand’s CP Orange said it has signed a $250 million contract with Motorola Inc. to install cellular networks in Thailand’s provinces.
According to a statement by CP Orange, Motorola will install an 1800 MHz GSM network and provide radio access equipment as well as other integration services in preparation for 2.5-generation technology launch later this year.
CP Orange, which is 49-percent owned by France Telecom’s Orange, plans to have nationwide coverage by the end of 2002.
