Palestine: Palestinian telecommunications provider, PALTEL, has selected Alcatel-Lucent to update its current optical network. Alcatel-Lucent expects the project to be completed by the second quarter of 2010.
Indonesia: Huawei has been chosen by PT Hutchison CP Telecommunications to broaden its network. The company intends to purchase $307.2 million of infrastructure and equipment from Huawei by January, 2011, and purchase another $80 million of infrastructure and equipment by January 2015.
Norway: Bridge Technologies has been tapped to supply the monitoring solution for Virgin Media’s advanced digital TV platform. Virgin Media will utilize VideoBRIDGE, the Bridge Technologies system that includes a series of IP probes, software, and servers.
United States: The state of New Hampshire has secured a $1.5 million grant from the Economic Development Administration to bolster wireless telecommunications infrastructure. The grant will go to the New Hampshire Department of Resources and Economic Development.
