Ericsson to buy HP stake in EHPT

STOCKHOLM, Sweden—L.M. Ericsson said it has decided to acquire the remaining 19 percent of its joint venture EHPT from Hewlett-Packard Co. in order to enhance its third-generation billing and business support systems. EHPT’s activities will be incorporated into Ericsson’s operations as of Sept. 4, 2001.”HP will remain a strong partner of Ericsson, reselling, implementing and supporting billing systems and business support systems through the different HP organizations,” said Ericsson in a statement.
