Tivoli completes tests of i-mode authentication software

TOKYO-Tivoli Systems Inc., an IBM company, announced it has completed initial tests of software that it claims can provide secure authentication and authorization to applications and data accessed through i-mode wireless devices.

Tivoli SecureWay Policy Director software will allow customers to leverage initial i-mode support, offering the approximately 25 million current i-mode subscribers and 800 companies that use i-mode wireless devices, security and privacy.

The software will soon be available in Japanese, Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, Tivoli said, and pricing will depend upon the number of users.
