BOYNTON BEACH, Fla.-Motorola Inc. today filed a lawsuit against Paging America for allegedly misleading customers with the promise of a free Motorola pager.
Motorola said it conducted an investigation of the situation in response to complaints from consumers who said they were inundated with unsolicited e-mails offering a free Motorola pager. Motorola said it found the pagers were neither free nor manufactured by the company.
“This lawsuit reflects our desire to protect the value of the Motorola brand, and our commitment to the millions of consumers who purchase quality Motorola products,” said Miguel Pellon, vice president of Motorola messaging.
