MobileSys Inc., a wireless infrastructure provider, acquired wireless application software company BITMO, a move MobileSys said will allow it to add voice browsing, speech-recognition and device- independent browsing to its customers.
LightSurf Technologies Inc. will join the growing list of companies developing software to support Qualcomm’s new BREW platform. In addition to BREW’s benefits, the LightSurf Technology Platform also will allow all BREW-enabled handsets to provide intelligent interaction with visual communication accessories, like clip-on cameras and built-in digital eye modules.
eVoice, which provides voicemail services, licensed Covigo Inc.’s wireless platform in order to build, deploy and manage wireless applications for eVoice’s messaging solutions, the companies announced.
Simplewire’s wireless text-messaging platform will be used to expand the short message service capabilities of Zondigo’s Zcore mobile application development software. The deal is aimed at application developers, allowing them access to third-party services through a single software product.
ClearStation Inc., an investment Web site and community, announced it will offer its services to wireless users through a deal with wireless Web site developer AlterEgo Networks Inc. ClearStation is a subsidiary of E*Trade Group Inc.

iAnywhere Solutions Inc. released its Jump Start for Wireless program, which the company said is aimed at speeding the development of applications for businesses. The program also includes a developer package, which iAnywhere said provides companies with a simple, low-cost entry point to overcome various wireless technical barriers.
