SAN RAMON, Calif.-U.S. Wireless Corp., a provider of wireless locations information and traffic-related services, completed tests for the National Emergency Number Association (NENA), confirming that its RadioCamera caller location system, which serves both emergency and commercial purposes, satisfies the Phase II requirements of the FCC’s E-911 mandate.
“After this testing, we are confident that there are existing location technologies meeting FCC requirements,” said Mark Adams, executive director of NENA. “E-911 is critical for public safety, and its implementation must not be delayed. We hope other location technology vendors will similarly allow us to evaluate their location systems so that we can help guide the industry toward reinforcing the safety of the public through timely implementation of wireless E-911 service.”
NENA is serving as a neutral party in evaluating and reporting on the availability of existing wireless location technologies and their ability to meet the FCC-mandated deadline for caller location capability.
