NEW YORK-AirMedia unveiled its Wireless Hub, which the company said will bring together content providers, corporations, telecommunications carriers and content aggregators and will simplify the dissemination of content for the wireless Internet.
The company said it has already signed more than 50 content providers, including AccuWeather.com and Nando Media, and is in talks with several global media companies.
AirMedia will provide the infrastructure and back-end services, as well as financial clearing and settlements, to allow companies to come together in one central location.
“Our service supports everyone’s wireless strategy at a time when no one is certain exactly how the wireless marketplace will develop,” said Mark F. Bregman, AirMedia’s chief executive officer.
AirMedia’s announcement comes just weeks after the launch of Wmode, a company with a similar service.
