CANNES, France-Sun Microsystems Inc. and Openwave Systems Inc. announced they will be working together to accelerate the delivery of end-to-end mobile Internet services solutions.
The companies said they plan to jointly test and optimize interoperability among their infrastructure products. Specifically, Sun and Openwave said they will test the interoperability of Sun Enterprise servers, Sun StorEdge T3 arrays, Sun Cluster 3.0 software and the Solaris 8 operating environment with Openwave’s infrastructure and application software. Additionally, Openwave said it intends to incorporate the Java2 platform, Enterprise Edition, as part of the Openwave Email Web edition.
Sun and Openwave also intend to develop a wireless developer program to support both Java and WAP developers, and a customer support and escalation program.
