VIENNA, Va.-The Newspaper Association of America partnered with Aether Systems Inc. to create a wireless news gateway, which will allow users to access content from multiple participating newspapers, in an attempt to find out how best to offer mobile news and information.
Users’ preferences will be tracked to determine the most effective ways to offer content.
“The gateway will offer a new level of accessibility to local news and information, as well as providing participating newspapers with information essential to assessing the effectiveness of the new promising area of wireless advertising,” said Tom Lupica, Aether’s senior vice president for wireless services.
Participating papers include The New York Times, the Seattle Post and The Arizona Republic.
