RESTON, Va.-Nextel Communications Inc. will use ViAir Inc.’s platform and WirelessInbox applications allowing customers direct access to their Internet e-mail and contacts using any Nextel Internet-capable phone.
ViAir said its platform allows real-time access to up to 10 existing Internet e-mail accounts and contact via single sign-on; the ability to receive customizable notification services delivered via protocols such as short message service and simple mail transfer protocol; and access to information at the source, preserving existing e-mail identities and integrating data automatically when reading or deleting messages.
