SEATTLE-Alaska Airlines expanded its wireless offerings, which include mobile flight information and flight schedules, to give customers the ability to check in for flights using a Web-enabled phone or personal digital assistant.
Wireless software and services provider Everypath worked with the airline to enable wireless access to the company’s Web site.
“Wireless check in is one more step in giving our customers total control, whether they are using wireless access or are on a PC at their home or office,” said Steve Jarvis, the airline’s staff vice president of e-commerce.
Everypath also recently worked with America West Airlines to set up wireless access to the airline’s flight arrival and departure times, gate information and city-by-city future flight schedules.
