MINNEAPOLIS-Minnesota-based PCS carrier WirelessNorth introduced text messaging service to its active markets in Fargo and Grand Forks, N.D.; Duluth, Fergus Falls and Moorhead, Minn.; and Superior, Wis.
WirelessNorth said the text messaging service allows its subscribers to receive messages of up to 100 characters on their PCS phones. WirelessNorth also paired with smartRay Network Inc. to offer free access to a variety of content channels such as stock quotes, flight alerts, weather forecasts, lottery results and sport scores.
In conjunction with the text messaging service introduction, WirelessNorth redesigned its Web site to function as a tool for the service.
“We’re excited to use our site not only as a reference for information for new customers, but also as a function our current subscribers will want to continue to come back and see,” said Dan Richards, director of sales and marketing for WirelessNorth.
