MELVILLE, N.Y.-Comtech Telecommunications Corp. said the Federal Communications Commission granted authority to its subsidiary, Comtech Mobile Datacom Corp., to provide satellite-based packet data communications services in the United States on a commercial basis.
The special temporary authority authorizes Comtech to provide services through a maximum of 5,000 mobile terminals. An application for a blanket license for service through 25,000 terminals is pending, the company said.
