ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill.-Motorola Inc.’s Network Solutions Sector and its strategic alliance partners, Cisco Systems Inc. and Xybridge Technologies, will participate in Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo’s Internet Protocol-based mobile communications trial.
Cisco will use its core Internet routers and media gateways to provide expertise in IP networking to NTT’s trial. Motorola and Xybridge are working together to integrate Xybridge’s softswitch product suite into Motorola’s Aspira architecture to create a carrier-class multimedia communications infrastructure.
The trials are scheduled to begin in NTT’s laboratories in September.
